And now, for something fun. March has a lot to celebrate. Did you know these March facts?
- The Yellowstone National Park Protection Act, was signed on March 1, 1872, making it the first national park in the U.S.
- National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day is celebrated on March 1.
- Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat was first published in March 1957. Coincidentally (or perhaps not so coincidentally), Seuss’s (Theodor Seuss Geissel) birthday is March 2. Many educational institutions celebrate March 2 as Read Across America Day.
- Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879. Another coincidence: March 14 is National Pi Day!
- The game Monopoly’s official birthday is March 19, according to Parker Brothers.
- March 21 is World Poetry Day.
- The Eiffel Tower opened in March 1889.
