Year-End Planning Tips for September

year-end marketing- Decermber 31As you enter the busy last quarter of the year, this month is the ideal time to fine-tune your year-end marketing plans. Sharpe Group recommends these successful strategies:

✔ Add year-end messaging to your web content.

✔ Update your donor data, such as address, age, wealth, income, etc., for year-end segmentation and marketing purposes.

✔ Make special plans for special people: the top 10, 100, 300 and 500 or the category that fits your donor base, such as high net worth, affluent donors with six-figure incomes and seven-figure minimum net worth.

✔ Target donors who are likely non-itemizers with ideas on smart ways to make their charitable gifts.

✔ Send a targeted printed and/or digital communication to your Gen X donors, focusing on gifts of stock, DAFs and the new universal deduction for cash gifts.

✔ Plan a special communication to donors who give more than $500 or $1,000 per year.

✔ Promote gifts from family foundations or closely held businesses from your wealthy donors.

✔ Use your printed year-end communications in year-end appeals, as handouts at special events and as leave behinds following donor visits.

✔ Add a digital version of your printed Sharpe year-end communication to reach a broader audience.

✔ To coincide with National Estate Planning Awareness Week, send your advisor network the helpful “Your Guide to Federal Taxes 2026,” a handy reference guide with income and estate tax figures.
